LinkedIn Safety Options

Birdie's options contain several settings related to LinkedIn safety. Generally, you should not be doing anything in high volume in a short amount of time. This includes:

  • Opening up many different profiles in multiple browser tabs at the same time. Even if done by hand, opening many profiles at the same time makes your actions look like a scraper from LinkedIn's point of view.
  • Repeating a simple process as quickly as possible for many repetitions. For example: Opening a profile → Sending a connection request → Closing the browser tab → Moving on to the next profile → Etc. Even if done by hand, the pure repetition can make your actions look bot-like to LinkedIn.
  • Related to the example above, LinkedIn also considers sending a high volume of connection requests over a short period of time to be bot-like behavior.

We've designed Birdie's Bulk Actions to 1) Not do anything too quickly and 2) Limit the number of connection requests you can send out per day. There are a couple of settings in Birdie's options to control safety-related behavior.

Changing Birdie's LinkedIn safety options

Open Birdie's options and click on Optional Settings (1).

The relevant Birdie options (2) are:

  • Average delay between fetching profiles
    • This controls the amount of time Birdie waits between fetching LinkedIn profiles.
    • Higher values are safer.
  • Average delay between sending connection requests
    • This controls the amount of time Birdie waits between sending consecutive connection requests.
    • Higher values are safer.
  • Maximum number of connection requests per day
    • This controls the maximum number of connection requests you can send per day when using Birdie's Bulk Actions.
    • Lower values are safer.
    • Even if you remove this limit, you will only be able to send 50 connection requests at a time. This means if you want to send 100 connection requests in 1 day, you need to send them in 2 batches of 50.

After you've configured your safety settings, click Save (3).
