Invite Your Connections to Follow Your Company Page
Birdie makes it much easier to invite your 1st degree connections to follow your company page, and can even automate sending an invite after someone connects with you. These features allow you to scale your company following with less effort.
Prerequisites and limitations
There are a number of LinkedIn specific requirements and restrictions when using Birdie to invite people to follow your company page.
- You must be an admin of your company's LinkedIn page.
- You can only invite your 1st degree connections.
- You can only send up to 250 invites per month.
Required setup: Set your company page URL in Birdie's settings
Open Birdie's settings, click on Optional Settings , scroll down and find the option What is the URL to your company's LinkedIn page (1). Copy and paste the URL of your company page into this field.
You can also change the option Automatically invite your connections to follow your company's LinkedIn page (2) from No to Yes . When this is set to Yes , Birdie will automatically scan your 1st degree connections and send invites to people who you have not invited yet.
Finally, click Save at the bottom.
Invite someone from their profile page
From someone's profile page, click on Birdie's menu icon (1), then click on Invite person to follow your company on LinkedIn (2).
Auto inviting your connections
If you had configured Birdie to automatically send invites, the following will happen:
Every hour, Birdie will look through your 1st degree connections and find people who you have not invited to follow your company page yet, starting with your most recent connections. Birdie will invite the first 20 people it finds to follow your company page. You will notice an Inviting... indicator (1) at the top right of your browser window when this is happening.
Birdie only invites 20 people per hour to prevent itself from hitting LinkedIn's servers too quickly. This means that after 1 hour, 20 invites will have been sent. After 2 hours, 40 invites will have been sent. And so forth, all the way up to 250 invites per month. Due to this time restriction, it is considered best practice to always have a browser tab with LinkedIn open so that Birdie can maximize the number of invites sent over a given period of time.
How to invite a batch of connections manually
You can also invite a batch of 1st degree connections by clicking on Birdie's menu icon (1) and selecting Invite connections to follow your company on LinkedIn (2).
Birdie will then follow the same process described in the section above i.e. Birdie will scan your 1st degree connections and invite 20 people.
How to see who you've invited
Navigate to your recent connections. In your list of connections, Birdie will indicate who it has invited to follow your company page.
Unfortunately, you cannot see from LinkedIn's company admin page who you've invited. This is a limitation of LinkedIn itself.
