Creating LinkedIn Sequences

You can automate sending a series of connection requests and messages to someone using Birdie's LinkedIn Sequences. For example, you can set up a sequence in which:

  1. The first step is a connection request.
  2. After the connection request is accepted, wait one day and send a follow up message.
  3. After the first follow up message, wait two days and send another follow up message.
  4. Etc.

In addition, if the person responds while they're in the sequence, Birdie will notify you so that you can continue the conversation manually.

Create a sequence

In Birdie's options, click on Sequences and then Create new sequence .

Give your sequence a name and then click OK .

Click Add step to add a step to your sequence.

When creating a new step, there a couple of things to do.

  1. Select the step type. This can either be a Connection request or a Message . If you are creating a sequence to send to people who you haven't connected to with yet, the first step must be a Connection request .
  2. Write a template for the step. This will populate the body of the connection request or message sent to people in the sequence.
  3. You can use template variables to personalize your messages. For ease of use, you can click on the template variables underneath the template text box to add them to your template.

If you want to add another step, click on Add step .

When adding new steps, there are three things to keep in mind.

  1. Set the delay between the previous step and the new step. If the previous step was a connection request, this sets the delay between when the connection request was accepted and when the next message is sent.
  2. The step type for all steps after the first step should always be Message .
  3. You can delete a step by clicking on the trash can icon.

When your sequence is ready, click Save to save it.

An example sequence

In the sequence above, there are 3 steps.

  1. The first step is a connection request.
  2. The second step is a message that gets sent out 1 day after the connection request is accepted.
  3. The third step is a message that gets sent out 2 days after the second step is sent.

If the person never accepts the connection request, then steps 2 and 3 are effectively ignored.

If the person accepts the connection request and responds before the sequence is finished (i.e. before step 3 is sent), Birdie will stop the sequence and notify you so that you can follow up with the person manually.

Putting people in a sequence

With some sequences ready to go, the next step is to add people to your sequences.
