Executing Sequence Steps
Birdie keeps track of all the people in LinkedIn sequences who you need to follow up with, and provides a streamlined experience to send your follow up messages.
Prerequisites
You will need to add some people to a Birdie LinkedIn Sequence, or to a CRM/SEP sequence. Refer to the guides below for your specific CRM/SEP.
In addition, there must be some sequence steps due.
Check for due sequence steps
Every hour, Birdie checks to see who is in a sequence and has a sequence step due. You can also force Birdie to run this check by clicking on Birdie's menu icon, and then Check people in sequences
.
You will see a progress indicator while Birdie is checking.
If there are due sequence steps, the progress indicator will turn solid.
Click on the sequence icon to open Birdie's Task Runner to execute your sequence steps.
Executing steps in the Task Runner
The Task Runner will display a list of sequence steps that are due. Both Birdie LinkedIn sequence steps and CRM/SEP sequence steps will be shown. Within each step, there are a number of actions you can take.
- You can optionally edit the content of the message to be sent.
- You can send the sequence step by itself.
- You can skip the current sequence step. In this case no message will be sent, but the person will be moved to the next step of the sequence.
- You can delay sending the sequence step. This is useful if you want to send all sequence steps in one click (see #5 below), but want to leave out a few steps.
- You can click the
Send All
button at the bottom of the Task Runner to send all steps that haven't been delayed. Do not close the browser tab that is sending the sequence steps. You can switch to another tab to do something else and come back when everything is finished.
Sending sequence steps via 1-on-1 messages
This is only available for Birdie LinkedIn sequences, and not supported for CRM/SEP sequences.
You can also send the next step of a sequence when sending an individual message to someone in a sequence. Birdie will show you which sequence they're in (1), and you can also click the play button to send the next step in the sequence (2).
After clicking the play button, you will need to hit cmd + v
on macOS, or ctrl + v
on Windows to paste in the message. Afterwards, simply send the message to move the person to the next step of the sequence.
You can also skip the current sequence step (3) or remove the person from the sequence completely (4).
What happens when someone responds to your sequence?
This is only available for Birdie LinkedIn sequences, and not supported for CRM/SEP sequences.
If someone has responded to your sequence, Birdie will notify you in the Task Runner.
You can click on the reply icon to open the person's profile to send them a message. When you start typing a message to this person, Birdie will automatically remove this person from the sequence and notify you.
